We have, largely, forgotten that we are only ruleable because we allow it, and like a domesticated dog, we will put up with a lot before we bite our owner. So the owners have been taking the piss out of us for at least fifty years and we have realised we can't trust them, we can't trust the dog walkers either, and we are starting to think perhaps we will bite the fuckers after all. We're used to being nice, we're used to answering the recall word, but every dog has his day.

Great analogy. Maybe we should have a big s**t on their carpet.

We are now seeing that the promise of democracy was illusory. What is the difference between 17th century rule and 21st century rule? We have simply swapped Charles I for Keir Starmer: out of touch, arrogant and believing they have a right to rule. We are still serfs.

I totally agree Bettina. The Divine Right of Technocrats.

Hah! Exactly so!

Maybe we are all coming to realise that rather than arguing about specifics of policy, it's the system itself that we need to focus on changing, so that the will of the people is fully reflected in our governance.

I think it’s heading that way.

Though facing an open goal, nevertheless a provocative summary of where we currently stand politically in this country.

The movement the author describes is a call to hold Government to account, because Government, especially in its current Prime Ministerial iteration, has learnt to take the electorate for granted, simply as a means to indulge its ideological fantasies, even though increasingly these differ from manifesto commitments.

Hence why we got Starmerism and why we are now saying enough is enough.

A superb summary of the state of the nation. The fundamental dividing line, politically and socially, is now between those who believe in a democratic nation state and those who do not. All national institutions and members of the establishment are in the latter camp. There can be no compromise with these traitors; the fight must be taken to them with the utmost vigour.

Thank you very much, Andrew. I think you’re right. We’ve tried being nice, and that clearly hasn’t worked.
