I watched the footage, and was impressed that an officer was actually policing. I also saw him being interviewed and felt we need more officers like him. We’ve given up on the police because they have given up on us. As a prosecutor, I have worked with the police for many years, and I noticed a stark dumbing down, as those with degrees were joining at the same rate at the most experienced were leaving. I can see why Lorne wants to return; he hasn’t done anything wrong, but what can be the attraction in working for a spineless organisation that fails to support its own. Yes, there are times when the police must reject the bad apples, but this wasn’t one of them. By getting rid of Lorne, once again we feel let down by the police. This was yet another example where the State/police sided with the criminal. In Lorne we trust!

That really sums it all up Paul. The Police is no longer a "force", lacks respect and trust, almost totally down to senior officers and woke culture! I was probably one of the lucky ones, injury pensioned from the Met in 1987 therefore missing PACE and any dealings with the utterly useless and time consuming CPS.

Changes needed: -

1. Scrap the College of Policing

2. Re-introduce residential 16 week disciplined training facilities

3. Only recruit ex service personnel and people aged over 25 who have worked for at least 7 years before entering

4. Stop all graduate entries

5. Re-introduce minimum height and physical requirements for ALL officers

6. All graduate direct entry senior officers to be removed

7. In the interim, the best and fittest of proper coppers to be brought back in to sort out the rubbish and throw it out

8. Prosecute Blair, May and Cameron for Misconuct in Public Office for their failure to protect the public, prevent crime and effectively prosecute where crime detected!

My opinion only!!
